Saturation

• Represents how saturated (or rich) a colour is

• Also represents how a hue appears under certain lighting conditions

• Low saturation will be less overall colour, eventually becoming a shade of grey when fully desaturated

• Represented as a percentage between 0% and 100%

• Colours with similar saturation levels make for more cohesive designs

  • As with Chroma, colours with similar-but-not-identical saturation can be jarring
