Split Complementary Colours
Like Complementary Colours but one of the colourpoints is split equally in two, and the third is opposing their centrepoint
The split pair can be separated by a narrow or wide margin/range (a wider margin will approach a Triadic Colours scheme)
Good option for limited palette - offers harmony of Complementary Colours while covering more of colour wheel and including a wider range of colours
Can also split both complementary centrepoints (sometimed called Tetradic Colours)
- Works best if the margin/range between each split is relatively narrow
- Wide tetradic schemes can be difficult
